Cartagena
 Cartagena, the nearest large town is approximately
25 kilometres away from La Manga Club, and has a similar weather pattern.
The town is one of the oldest in Europe and has many historic sites
of interest.
The city is renowned for its archaelogical sites,
some of which pre-date the
arrival of the Romans. Many of the city's sites have already been excavated
and offer a fascinating glimpse into the history of the city. Cartagena
also
has a strong maritime history and is the birthplace of Isaac Peral
who
invented the first submarine. A site in the city is dedicated to him.
The
port area has recently undergone a massive transformation, making it
one of
the most vibrant and exciting areas in the city, whilst there are an
ever
increasing range of shopping opportunities available.
